Welcome to the C.I.N.D.E.R Fund

The C.I.N.D.E.R. Fund was founded because Cats In Need Deserve Every Resource!   The C.I.N.D.E.R. Fund's mission is to financially assist with the sterilization, and other veterinary care, of needy cats and kittens.  We strive to prevent the unwanted births, and unnecessary suffering and death ,of hundreds of felines in southeastern Michigan.  Working with local veterinarians and caretakers of stray or feral cats and kittens, the Fund assists with the sterilization, testing and vaccinations of these animals.  The Fund also assists limited-resource individuals with the sterilization of their own cat or kitten.

We are a Section 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt organization.  As such all contributions to the C.I.N.D.E.R. Fund are tax-deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Story of Cinder

Cinder was one of the lucky ones.  Born to a stray cat under a porch, she was found by a caring individual who brought her to a rescue group where she was provided veterinary care, put into a foster home and then adopted into her forever home.  During her short life she touched everyone she met with her good-natured disposition.  Even though she had only three working legs, her hind leg being damaged in some unknown trauma from her past, Cinder was always full of love.  Cinder deserved to have a warm and loving home, and she did finally find a home where she could unload the baggage of her past. Most cats and kittens living in those circumstances aren't so lucky.

One Female cat, her mate and their offspring can produce 350,000 kittens in all of their lifetimes if none are sterilized.  Many of these cats live as strays or in colonies where day-to-day survival is an issue, scrounging for food and shelter while avoiding predators.  Never being vaccinated they succumb to preventable diseases, living ill for their short lives.  Some may have human caretakers who feed them but are unable to prevent uncontrolled breeding.  Many others are picked up and transported to animal shelters where they are euthanized because there are too simply too many of them to help.  A lucky few make it into rescue groups who find homes for them but so many more never do.

The C.I.N.D.E.R Fund's mission is to financially assist with the sterilization, and other veterinary care, of needy cats and kittens to prevent the unwanted births, and unnecessary suffering and death, of thousands of felines in Southeastern Michigan.  If you feel as we do, that all cats and kittens in need, deserve our every resource to end  overpopulation and illness, please consider making a donation to our fund.  Your tax-deductible donation can help us to help more cats in need.
